About Us

With over 24 years experience in retail management, Lee has helped run Carlton’s since 1998. Lee handles many of the day to day operations of our custom products from order entry to and after delivery. Technically proficient in all products sold at Carlton’s, Lee can offer advice on the best flooring to use in a particular area, how to paint or wallpaper, how to refinish a piece of furniture, or what the differences are in the quality Carlton’s sells versus the competition.
Called on by Nancy daily, Lee will spec the installation process of the items she sells and see it through to the end. When a special color is needed, Lee’s keen eye is called on to match fabrics and wallpapers for the “just right” color. Lee also has drawn and specified custom furniture layouts for offices, bedrooms and living areas that get turned into real, solid wood pieces by our shop in New Hampshire. Quite often, this truly custom solid wood furniture will last for generations at a cost similar to its imported counterparts.
Lee works directly with our installers to make sure your job is completed in a clean, timely basis. Lee can be found directly on the job site quite often, inspecting the work and product and heading off potential problems before they arise.

Self described as “older than dirt” and “brutally honest”, Nancy’s years with Carlton’s have created quite a following. She has had many customers come to her time after time for projects ranging from choosing a simple paint color to guidance when completely renovating a whole house. Trusted by clients for decades, she has done work for multiple generations within a family.
Creating the furniture and custom window treatment departments from nothing, Nancy shows in the store the types of products desired by most of central Connecticut’s residents. That doesn’t keep her from reaching beyond the normal to create a look that’s uniquely you. Unlike many commissioned salespeople, Nancy helps you work within your budget to decorate an area that will truly last in looks, style and quality.

At Carlton’s for 25 years and in the paint industry for 40 years, Tony can be found behind our paint counter doling advice to DIYer’s and contractors alike on the proper products to use for specific projects but he truly loves to be on the road. Traveling all across CT and beyond, Tony is also our resident blind and shade installer. Tony has spent years perfecting installations of window treatments, often passing tips for improvements on items directly to the manufacturer, which get incorporated nationwide.
Tony is also seen on most deliveries. Whatever he delivers, paint, flooring, hardware or furniture, Tony inspects every delivery and makes sure that everything is set-up and arranged as you pictured.
